My Favorite Bakery in New York

red4

I’m not much of a lyrical food blogger (though I do love sharing!) so don’t expect any fancy descriptions or acrobatic wordplay from me re: bakery items. BUT, I do know a good cupcake when I devour one — it’s so good! once it hits the lips! – and luckily, the bakery near my apartment has got it, hands down.

My friend's score, after I told her she should "try a cupcake" here.

It’s pretty much your typical ‘fancy’ bakery with the average cupcake price nestled securely in the $4 range, but the portions are noticeably bigger than what you’d get at Magnolia or Spot, aren’t dry, and maintain a respectable sugar : flavor ratio. The kind you can take home to momma.

They sell cakes!

Cute, aren’t they?

... and T-shirts.

I’ve never seen anyone buy these before.

The Before

One of my go-to’s: the Brooklyn Blackout

Ohhh yes...

Rich. Fudgy. Dark. Yummy.

The After

Two Little Red Hens
1652 2nd Ave

OMG I LOVE little red hens! I used to go there all the time too when I was in your hood :( Their blackout is also yummy when chilled in the summer because the inside pudding is cold. MMMMMM

Yeah, I’m pretty much there every week — it’s just so close! This bakery will definitely be one of the things I miss most about living here. I love chilling the cupcake in the fridge too! Makes the frosting kind of hard but then the inside pudding is soo good as a cold treat. YUMS.
