Anybody who’s taken a look at my blog (thanks guys!) should already know that I LOVE french toast. Along with noodles, it gets top billing on my List of Things I Love to Eat (heh, heh, heh; uh, I mean, don’t be lewd.)
Ahem.
Anyways, that’s why typically when I’m scouring Yelp for new brunch restaurant suggestions, I’m filtering based on the french toast reviews. I forgot how exactly this waffle joint caught my eye during my search, but I’m glad it did!
Who: Petite Abeille
What: A Belgian Waffle House!
Where: Flatiron
I ordered their daily waffle special, which came topped with pineapple, mango, blueberries, and whipped cream. I know, the addition of the blueberries threw me off a bit too. But the fruit was fresh and the waffle held such a nice balance of crunchy and fluffy that I’m pretty sure I’ll be bringing my appetite and others back again. Yum.
So if you’re looking for brunch places in the Flatiron district, Petite Abeille is a solid choice. Good food, half priced beers on Monday, and friendly service! I guess I’ve been lucky and haven’t had a negative brunch experience here yet? Although it’s not like I’ve been to brunch that many times so maybe it’s just a numbers thing…
PS– sorry the photos are so 爛! I took them with my phone and didn’t realize they looked so crappy until I got home. Sad.

If you ever find yourself in Hoboken, check out La Isla for their stuffed french toast. Saw it on the Food Network. I’d go myself, but I think you might be a bit closer.
Can’t say that’ll happen anytime soon but I will keep this on my radar just in case! Btw, come visit alreadyyyyyy!
Those look good!
Haven’t had any brunch in years. It’s something I should do more often.
It was and you should! (:
